Google blocks its own IP's ?

Within 2012 I have been accustomed in using google spreadsheets for lots of different tasks. In most of my spreadsheets I am using scripts that make use of importXML that are able to extract information from XML formatted webpages. The last 2 days I have noticed that all of my scripts don't bring any result back.

Link exchanges the easy way

LinkEx - Link exchange scriptLink exchanges are time consuming. If you have done few you know what I mean. The trouble is not with arranging them and placing them; you need to maintain them as well. You need to check once in a while to see if the link partners are linking back to you and act accordingly. It gets even more time consuming if the link exchanges are 3 way in which case you have to check a third domain that has your link included. Its hard to keep track of all these, and it gets even harder the more link exchanges that you arrange.

SPAM: fighting back

Over the last two months or so there has been a surge of comment spam on this very blog. It has come to the point where I have been erasing 200 email notifications for comments on GeoLand; all of them for Viagra and other exotic drugs.

Spam, even google can't keep up with it ?

Just stumbled on the official google webmasters blog. I have been there before, quite a few times as a result of searching (as was this time). What struct me this time on this particular post was that OBVIOUS spam comments from March 14th 2007 have not been removed, even though later comments from the same author (probably SPAM also) have been removed ?!
